Human beings naturally connect with others and make friends through school, college, work, and social media.
We may know hundreds or even thousands of people, but how many do we actually talk to every day?
Many people we call friends are really acquaintances. We may occasionally talk to them or interact with their posts, but we may not have a meaningful place in each other's lives.
And that's perfectly fine. Managing relationships is difficult, and it is impossible to maintain a deep connection with everyone.
Among the people we know, there are usually two kinds of friends.
Group A: The Troop
These are the people who seem cool to you and share common interests with you.
You hang out together, take pictures, and enjoy spending time with them. However, you cannot always rely on them.
Some of them may only contact you when they need something. You may value the friendship, but the connection is not always deep.
Group B: The Best Friends
These are the people you feel truly close to. They may be part of your larger friend group or completely separate from it.
They care about you and are honest with you because they genuinely want the best for you.
Sometimes, you meet someone who is so similar to you that you instantly connect. You do not have to force the friendship—it simply happens.
These are the people with whom you can build lifelong relationships. Even the ups and downs of life cannot easily break that bond.
Why You Should Appreciate Your True Friend
1. Their encouragement pushes you to do things you may not have the courage to do. You believe in and trust them.
2. You can be completely yourself around them. You can be silly, embarrassing, and unapologetic without feeling uncomfortable.
3. They help you grow and always stand by you.
4. You can talk to them about anything without being afraid of judgment. You know they will support you.
5. Whenever something exciting or unusual happens, they are among the first people you want to tell.
6. You love them because they are always ready to spend time with you.
7. They often understand what you are thinking before you even say it.
8. Their criticism does not hurt you because you know it comes from a place of honesty and care.
9. You always have a good laugh together, share countless inside jokes, and feel completely comfortable around them.
10. They stop you from getting into trouble because they know you well and understand your limits.
11. They make you feel good about yourself, remind you of your worth, and motivate you to keep going.
